I’m excited to share my journey and recent achievement—winning OLIVIA’s first-ever Admin of the Month award! The announcement came as a total surprise during our first 2025 Town Hall. Our Manager of Operations was about to have a special announcement, and then our CEO said, “Hold on, I’m looking for her.” At that moment, I was off-cam, and I received a private message, telling me to turn on my camera. The moment I read that message, It felt like I was floating—I was overwhelmed with joy. My mind went blank, my hands were shaking, and I was on the verge of tears. It was an unforgettable moment that made me realize how much I’ve grown in just 10 months with OLIVIA. My Journey at OLIVIA Before joining OLIVIA, I was praying and searching for opportunities because I had one goal in mind—I wanted to help my brother graduate. I didn’t want to waste time while waiting for my own graduation, so I started looking for work. I randomly applied for jobs on OnlineJobs.ph , without being too picky about the position. I knew the VA industry was competitive, and I had no prior experience, but I took a leap of faith. When I applied at OLIVIA Pros, I never expected to make it past the initial and final interviews, especially since my co-applicants had experience in BPO and healthcare. I just did my best and made sure I stood out. The moment I received the job offer, I was ecstatic—after countless applications, OLIVIA gave me a chance. They saw potential in me, even without prior experience. During training, I was asked if I was comfortable talking to clients. Without hesitation, I said yes—even though I had no idea what the role truly entailed! I just knew I was willing to learn and grow. Little did I know, I’d soon become part of the Operations Team. My final interview was with our CEO, and just two hours later, I received my contract!I shared this special moment with my family, and I couldn’t help but say, "Thank you, Lord!" Knowing that I could finally support my sibling was a blessing beyond words. As a Client & VA Success Associate, my role is to bridge the gap between clients and virtual assistants, ensuring smooth communication and support. My initial biggest challenge was getting to know all our clients and VAs so I could understand their needs better and provide the right support. What Led to My Success One of the biggest challenges I faced was handling client escalations about their VAs. As the middle person, I had to ensure the client felt heard and supported, while also guiding and helping the VA improve. A strong balance of empathy, problem-solving, and communication was crucial. In my position, neither the client nor the VA should feel left out—I have to find solutions for both. I wouldn’t have grown this much without the guidance of our CEO, our leadership team, and my amazing teammates. Our CEO has been an incredible mentor, pushing me to develop my decision-making skills. I remember a one-on-one conversation where she told me that great leaders don’t just solve problems—they anticipate them.  That stuck with me, and it’s something I strive to apply daily. Our Manager of Operations also played a huge role in my growth, constantly encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone. And of course, my teammates have been a source of inspiration—we lift each other up and celebrate each other’s wins, big or small. Lessons & Advice for Fellow VAs If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that belief in yourself is the first step to success. My motto has always been: "She believed she could, so she did ." Opportunities don’t just come knocking— you have to chase them, create them, and make them yours . Here are some key lessons that have helped me thrive: Be proactive – Don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do. Take initiative! Always communicate – Whether it’s a concern, an update, or just checking in, clear communication makes all the difference. Believe in yourself – You don’t need experience to succeed;  you need determination, a willingness to learn, and the courage to step up. When I started this journey, my biggest motivation was to help my brother graduate. Now, seeing everything come full circle makes all the challenges worth it—he just defended his thesis, will be starting his OJT soon, and before long, he’ll be graduating and working toward his mechanical engineer license! It’s a proud moment, not just for him, but for me too, knowing that my hard work has made a difference in his future. Conclusion Winning Admin of the Month was more than just an award— it was a reminder of how much I’ve grown, how much I’ve learned, and how much more I can achieve . This recognition has motivated me to keep improving, not just for myself but for the clients, VAs, and the entire OLIVIA team.  Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing with OLIVIA. But as time went on, I realized that while this job has its many rewards, it also comes with challenges, tight deadlines, moments of self-doubt, and days when nothing seems to go right. If you're a VA (or aspiring to be one), I want to remind you: it’s okay if work isn’t always okay.  We all have days when we feel exhausted, frustrated, or even question if we’re cut out for this. But don’t let those moments define your journey. Remember Why You Started Think back to the reason you took this path. Was it to gain financial independence? To spend more time with your family? To escape the 9-to-5 grind? Whatever your reason, hold onto it. Your "why" is what will push you forward when the days get tough. Growth Comes with Struggles I’ve had my share of struggles, difficult projects, self-doubt, and even moments where I felt like giving up. But every challenge has shaped me into the VA I am today. Take Breaks and Protect Your Peace Hustle culture can sometimes make us feel like we always need to be working. But the truth is, rest is just as important as productivity . You miss out on those real-life moments  with your teammates. That’s why our team-building trip to Baguio City  felt like hitting the refresh button on our entire team dynamic. It was a weekend packed with coffee dates, scenic sunsets, a TikTok dance challenge (yes, we really did that), and bonding moments that we’ll never forget. Spoiler alert: this trip brought us closer than ever—and we had so much fun doing it . Let’s rewind and take you through our unforgettable Baguio adventure! Day 1: From Coffee Sips to Karaoke Hits  We kicked things off with an early morning rendezvous in the cool, breezy city of Baguio . After months of just seeing each other through screens, meeting in person was a whole new vibe. The excitement? Off the charts. Foam Café: Coffee, Photos, and First Conversations  Our first stop was Foam Café , a charming little spot that served great coffee and even better Instagram-worthy backdrops. As we settled in, coffee cups in hand, we started chatting and snapping photos like there was no tomorrow. It felt like catching up with old friends. Some of us even waited for our other teammates to arrive—because let’s face it, no one gets left behind when there’s coffee involved. Diplomat Hotel: Sunsets, Selfies, and Serenity  From Foam Café, we headed to the iconic Diplomat Hotel . If you’ve never been, imagine beautiful ruins, a stunning sunset view, and the kind of peaceful ambiance that makes you stop and appreciate the moment. As the golden hour hit, we snapped photos, laughed together, and soaked up the view. There’s something about watching a sunset with your team—it’s like a shared pause where everyone just exists  together. Karaoke Night at Our Airbnb: The Real Show Begins  Now, this is where things got really  fun. Back at our Airbnb , we turned the living room into our own concert stage. Did we belt out ballads? Yes. Did someone hit the high notes? Not really, but A+ for effort. Did we laugh until our stomachs hurt? Absolutely. Between singing, teasing each other, and munching on snacks, the vibe was pure joy. It was during these moments—sharing stories and laughing over our “musical talent”—that we got to know each other beyond work . We talked about life, dreams, and even the funny little things we’d never had time to share during Zoom calls. In the middle of the shoot, we decided to spice things up with a TikTok dance challenge . Yes, we joined the trending  APT  dance, and let’s just say…we gave it our best shot! Between missed steps and bursts of laughter, it became one of the most unforgettable moments of the trip. Who knew TikTok could be this much fun? Burnham Park: More Smiles, More Shots  Next stop: Burnham Park . With its beautiful scenery and endless photo opportunities, we continued our “fun shoot” around the park. Whether it was candid shots, group selfies, or just enjoying the fresh air together, we made sure to capture every moment. It wasn’t just about the photos, though—it was about making memories. And we were making plenty. Canto Restaurant: Food, Gifts, and Full Hearts After a long (and fun) morning, we headed to Canto , a local restaurant famous for its delicious  food. And wow—did it live up to the hype! Over plates of mouthwatering dishes, we exchanged gifts , shared laughter, and reflected on the trip so far. There’s something special about sitting around a table with your team, sharing good food and even better company.
